The Challenge

Having delivered fresh produce for over 60 years, I A  Harris & Son are a supplier to various restaurants, schools, pubs, cafes, and delis. Working closely with New Covent Garden Market, I A Harris operates throughout London and parts of Kent, 24 hours a day, 6 days a week.

Like many companies in wholesale, I A Harris print thousands of packing sheets and 2-part white/pink invoices around the clock – therefore, reliable device performance is absolutely key. Following a site audit, however, Apogee found that I A Harris was using a mixed fleet of print devices, with some not covered by any kind of service plan: resulting in costly delays in the event of any technical issues.

The Solution

Following the audit, Apogee implemented a new Managed Print Service – which provided I A Harris with four new multifunctional devices, consolidated under a single service.

Combined with ARMA (Apogee’s Remote Management Application), the new print management software orders toner replenishment automatically, and also allows Apogee to remotely monitor device status and proactively organise engineer callouts – without any additional charge to the fixed quarterly cost. This ensures that device uptime is kept consistent, and removes the necessity for staff having to order toner manually; meaning significant cost and time savings.

Additionally, I A Harris’ access to Apogee’s customer portal allows them to easily book any service callouts, and temporarily swap in spare devices if the need arises.

The Outcome

With a 45% reduction in print spend, I A Harris is now able to provide a more reliable service to its customers. In the wake of the new solution, van dispatch delays have decreased overall; and due to the fully inclusive service plan, staff no longer need to spend time on maintaining printer performance.

Additionally, Apogee’s MPS solution was completely compatible with I A Harris’ ERP software, Freshware, meaning that their print practices could be updated without disrupting their established inventory management system.

Die Herausforderung

Seit über 60 Jahren liefert I A Harris & Son frische Produkte an verschiedene Restaurants, Schulen, Pubs, Cafés und Feinkostläden. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem New Covent Garden Market ist I A Harris in ganz London und Teilen von Kent tätig, 24 Stunden am Tag, 6 Tage die Woche.

Wie viele Unternehmen im Großhandel druckt I A Harris rund um die Uhr Tausende von Packzetteln und 2-teilige weiß/rosa Rechnungen - daher ist eine zuverlässige Geräteleistung absolut entscheidend. Nach einem Standort-Audit stellte Apogee jedoch fest, dass I A Harris eine gemischte Flotte von Druckgeräten einsetzte, von denen einige nicht durch einen Serviceplan abgedeckt waren, was bei technischen Problemen zu kostspieligen Verzögerungen führte.

Die Lösung

Im Anschluss an das Audit implementierte Apogee einen neuen Managed Print Service, mit dem I A Harris vier neue Multifunktionsgeräte erhielt, die in einem einzigen Service zusammengefasst wurden.

In Kombination mit ARMA (Apogees Fernverwaltungsanwendung) bestellt die neue Druckverwaltungssoftware automatisch Tonernachschub und ermöglicht es Apogee außerdem, den Gerätestatus aus der Ferne zu überwachen und proaktiv den Einsatz von Technikern zu organisieren - ohne zusätzliche Kosten zu den vierteljährlichen Fixkosten. Dadurch wird sichergestellt, dass die Betriebszeit der Geräte konstant bleibt und die Mitarbeiter keinen Toner mehr manuell bestellen müssen, was erhebliche Kosten- und Zeiteinsparungen bedeutet.

Außerdem kann I A Harris über das Kundenportal von Apogee problemlos Serviceeinsätze buchen und bei Bedarf vorübergehend Ersatzgeräte austauschen.

Das Ergebnis

Mit einer Reduzierung der Druckausgaben um 45 % ist I A Harris nun in der Lage, seinen Kunden einen zuverlässigeren Service zu bieten. Infolge der neuen Lösung sind die Verspätungen bei der Auslieferung von Transportern insgesamt zurückgegangen, und dank des umfassenden Serviceplans müssen die Mitarbeiter keine Zeit mehr für die Wartung der Druckerleistung aufwenden.

Darüber hinaus war die MPS-Lösung von Apogee vollständig mit der ERP-Software von I A Harris, Freshware, kompatibel, so dass die Druckverfahren aktualisiert werden konnten, ohne das bestehende Bestandsverwaltungssystem zu stören.
